New Baby Gift Ideas

Buying a gift for a newborn baby isn’t always easy, despite the wide variety of products available on the market. If you’re a relatively new parent yourself, you may have a favourite product that your baby loved or that you found really useful, making it easier to select a present.

But non-parents may find it really hard to choose something. There are so many baby products available in the shops and online today. How do we choose? Here are some suggestions:

1 - Look for awards. Products that have won awards have been tested and compared against the vast amount of baby stuff on the market. Because of this, award winning nursery products make ideal new baby gifts.

2 – Is it practical? New babies are given a lot of soft toys and super cute baby clothes. The reality is that many soft toys aren’t baby safe and in any case, baby only needs one or two cuddlies to become a friend for life. New babies live in babygros and they are often changed many, many times a day. Beautiful outfits are just irresistible, but bear in mind that they might never be worn. When choosing clothing as a new baby gift, sleepsuits and babygros are best for mum, dad and baby.

3 - New parents have a lot to buy in the first year. There’s the obvious ongoing purchases like nappies, but also high chairs, cots, car seats and prams – these things cost a lot of money! So the handy practical items aren’t always budgeted for – making them a perfect baby gift!
