How Much Should my Baby Sleep?
Each baby is different, has individual sleep needs and with some gentle guidance from you, will probably fall into his own sleeping pattern. However, here is an approximate guide to how much sleep your baby should be getting in the day and night for the first year.
It's also worth paying attention to the number of naps your baby is getting and the length of time he is able to stay awake without becoming overtired. A baby who doesn’t get enough sleep in the day is likely to wake frequently at night.
