Waking after midnight for dummy (4m old)

Hi

I was wondering if you can help?

My four month old has started sleeping from 6.30pm now we have established a bedtime routine, we wake him at 10.15 for a night feed after which he is almost always asleep again by 11.15pm.

The problem is after 1.30am he seems to wake up after every sleep cycle (either every 45 mins or 1.5 hours (if we're lucky)) and I have to get up to give him his dummy. He then needs a bit of soothing but will go back to sleep. I normally get him out of his bed between 6.30 and 7am for his morning feed but don't feed him in the night (he never cries when he wakes).

Is it possible that by being in the room with us, he can't get back to sleep? I say this because between 6.30 and 10.15 he doesn't wake up and his dummy falls out quite quickly so it doesn't seem he needs it all the time.

Naps during the day total just under three hours normally as he has 3 or 4 of 45 mins each.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gabby
