my 6 month old wont sleep

my 6 month old was sleeping from 9pm till half 5 up untill 2 months ago when she got very ill and was nearly awake all night in which i was giving her cuddles as she was ill and since then she is waking up every hour the only way i can get her to sleep all night is to put her in with us, she is not hungry as i offer her bottles and she wont take them she just wants to be cuddled she does have a dummy in which sometimes get her back off but not often,

she is on 3 solid meals and a morning snack and 4 6oz bottles a day i do offer pudding but she will not take it.
she also has a good bedtime routine with a bath bottle and a story.

i am going back to part time work and need my sleep do you have any ideas in what i should do x

Thank you for your post. I think the best thing to do would be a gradual retreat sleep training programme.
Starting with the bedtime routine which should last 30-40 minutes GR is done in steps and each step lasts for 3 nights and then you move onto the next step. What you will be do is weaning your baby of needing cuddles in order to fall asleep so that once again she can settle herself to sleep. She has just got into a bad habit since her illness and relies of cuddles in order to go to sleep. Remember to try and be consisitnet so whatever you do at bedtime you also need to do when she wakes in the night.
An example of your steps could be cuddle in arms to sleep, cuddle in cot to sleep, patting in the cot, intermittent patting, light touch and then onto no touch. Whatever you do you need to do for 10 minutes after she has fallen asleep to ensure she is in deep sleep before you leave the room.
Once you start the sleep training try not to take your baby into your bed as this does reward the waking - try and keep her in her cot until morning time.
It does not look like she is hungry so I wouldn't worry about offering milk in the night.
