6 mth old wakes at 5am every morning

My baby sleeps soundly through the night, but wakes at exactly 5am every morning. He goes to bed around 7 / 7.30 and his daytime naps are generally about 2-3 hours total in the day. HIs daytime nap routine is quiet relaxed as I also have a 20 mth old so the little one has to sleep on the go sometimes, but generally if he goes back to sleep after waking at 5, then wakes again at 7am (when his brother wakes up) then he'll have a nap at 9ish for about 40mins then at about 11.30/12ish for 1.5hrs and then a final nap at around 3/4pm for anything between 1-2 hours. So I think his naps are fine during the day, he's just gotten into the habit of waking too early! Is there a technique to break this habit? He is beginning to not go back to sleep after waking at 5am - so starting the day this early and then looking after 2 boys under 2 all day is starting to take its toll!

Thanks

Hi Hayley,

I agree 5 is just too early! I find 6.01 is better than 5.59, I guess it's psychological but 5 exactly must be wearing you out totally.

First, can I ask, what do you do when your son wakes at 5?

Thanks,

Adilla
